3:38PM - I'm in a very posty mood today
I went to Value Village on my lunch break and scored a few items. Hopefully they will fit. I got two pairs of pants, a ridiculous purse with a felt bear appliqued on the front, and an awesome nylon night gown. Why can't you find those anymore? I would love to kick around the house in a 70's style nylon gown all the time, but I can't find any new ones. Thank god for thrift stores.
Also, this past weekend I took a stab at making Bahn Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches), and they turned out alright. I put too much fish sauce in the nuoc mam, so the sauce was a little salty, but at least I know I can make it at home. I wish I still worked close to Les Grivals. I crave their sandwiches all of the time, especially their tofu. There is a huge Vietnamese community not too far from us, but I can't seem to find any sandwich shops.
I feel almost ashamed to say this, but I haven't tried to ride my bike since I got it. Well, that's not entirely true. I did try to ride it once, but the seat hurt my tailbone, and it hurt to sit for a week after that. I bought a big squishy, fat ass, ladies' seat, so now I just have to try it again. Seeing Lian's injuries makes me kinda scared. Look what I've started! I seriously thought I was the only non-disabled person over the age of 10 who couldn't ride a bike. I should start a support group or something.

Tell me your current favorite word.
Today mine is marmalade.
I also like to repeat the word banana over and over again in a sing-song way.
8:33AM
When they finally get my new computer at work setup, I'm going to drop kick this sumbitch out of a window.
Really.

Josh and I are putting a contract in for a house today. I'm kinda freaking out on the inside a little bit.
The house needs cosmetic work, but hopefully is structurally sound. We'll know more once we get an inspection, and we've got the option to back out in the next ten days if we don't like what we find.
The only things I don't like about the house are that it's a two story, there are no walk-in closets and the master is right across from the other rooms. Other than those issues it's got basically what we've been looking for. It's a foreclosure too, so it's cheap for the neighborhood.
It needs a good coat of paint on the inside, and new carpeting and some kitchen updates, but there's nothing a little money and patience can't fix.
I've already recruited Meghan as a painter.

Apri 4th, New Kids on the Block performing on the Today show.
You know you want to DVR that shit.
I'm going to.
Shut it.
2:21PM
So I'm into week 2 at the new digs, and I'm liking it.
Right now there's not much to do except answer the phones, but they're going to slowly teach me how to help out with other duties.
Everyone seems cool, and I love working in the Heights.
Man, I didn't realize how much I missed being able to see the outside world. I worked in a cave for so long that it's awesome being able to see the sunlight and trees. The office is a converted house, so there are windows everywhere.
It does get a bit lonely up at the front though. I'm sooooo rooooonery.
I miss all my buddies at the Symphony, but I think I'm going to like this place a lot more.
Also, I'm finally feeling human again. The four days I took off after I left the symphony were filled with disease. I was a fucking zombie all last week, and I don't even want to talk about the stomach issues.
Anyway, yeah, so we looked at some more houses this weekend too, and found one that is definitely nice. We're going to shop around for another week or two, and if nothing else comes up we're going to see about putting a contract on it.
Ah yup.

5:08PM - Shortness: the suckage continues
As some of you may already know, I don't know how to ride a bike.
I liken it to the story of the 40 year old virgin. I wanted to ride a bike, I tried to ride a bike, but it just never worked out. Then as I got older it became more and more awkward, so I gave it up.
Anyway, so the other day Josh and I are out to dinner with Ashley and Laura, and we decide to start up a bike gang. We go look at some bikes at Walmart and ended up buying one each.
Sometimes being 5'2" just gets to be fucking ridiculous. The only bikes they had that I could comfortably use were little girl bikes. That's right, I had to buy a kids bike . . . with motherfucking butterflies on it.
Laugh it up.
So anyway, now I have my sweet butterfly bike, and I'm having to learn to ride the fucker at the age of 28.
Youth, why have you so terribly failed to prepare me for my adult years?
Maybe next week I'll find an old pogo ball at Goodwill and try to master that too.

4:44PM
Today is my last day at the Symphony, and it's a little bittersweet.
Eventhough this place is crazy, and a few of the bosses are completely nuts, I still had fun here and made some good work friends.
I'm a little nervous about starting the new job, but I'm sure it will be fine.
My manager, Jenny, bought me a sweet spiderman cake, and everyone signed a card . . . that plays David Rose's "the stripper" when you open it.
It made me chuckle.
Good times, good times.
10:24AM
Woo! I just bought our Kids in the Hall tickets.
And we got our Eddie Izzard tickets last week.
Speaking of shows, Gogol Bordello was amazing.
Hi, Eugene? Please to making with the carnal now.
I want to have his skinny, mustachioed babies.
The entire band was very energetic and entertaining, and they played every song that I wanted to hear.
Skindred was a lot of fun too.
I took some shitty camera phone pictures.

Am I going to be all by myself?
